Jonte Harris is an under the radar prospect from Westwood High School in Camilla, Georgia. Jonte is a game changer on both ends of the court. Offensively, he is at his best in transition – he excels at knocking down the transition 3 or attacking the paint and scoring at the rim. Defensively, Jonte uses his quick hands and feet to terrorize opposing perimeter players. He is equally effective off the ball, consistently deflecting passes and disrupting passing lanes. As a result, he was named the Defensive Player of the Year after his junior season. During the 2016-17 campaign, Jonte averaged 20 points per game to go along with nearly 5 assists. For his efforts, he was named to the all-Region team following the conclusion of the season. The #PROMovement staff is very excited about Jonte’s future.
Jonte is a hardworking, high character young man who will be a terrific ambassador for the men’s basketball program. His ability to shoot the basketball combined with his basketball IQ and instincts translate well to the next level. He also understands the importance of taking care of business in the classroom as he currently has a 3.2 GPA and scored 1000 on the SAT. Jonte plans to pursue a degree in physical therapy or sports medicine.
