John Coats is an under the radar high academic prospect from Mundy’s Mill High School in Jonesboro, Georgia. Due to his length, John is a versatile defender who can guard multiple positions on the perimeter. His length also allows him to contest passing lanes and makes him a very effective help-side defender and rebounder. In addition, he is a talented offensive player who can score in a variety of ways. The #PROMovement staff expects John to have a strong July and an even stronger senior season.

John has the opportunity to be an impact player at the next level. From Day One, his length and versatility will make him a nightmare on the defensive end for opposing perimeter players. As he continues to mature and get stronger, #PROMovement expects him to be a solid contributor on the offensive end as well. John is also a strong student – he currently has a 3.7 GPA with plans to take the SAT and/or ACT early this fall. In college, John plans to major in  Engineering.
